Sunday Service – January 23, 2022 http://www.rougevalleychurch.org/sermons/sunday-service-january-23-2022/ http://www.rougevalleychurch.org/sermons/sunday-service-january-23-2022/#comments Mon, 24 Jan 2022 06:04:38 +0000 http://www.rougevalleychurch.org/?post_type=ctc_sermon&p=3260 Hear Tash Kang share her testimony of her time in co-founding Sparrow Co and how God walked with the entire Sparrow Co. team.

And Then:

We like control, right? When in doubt we want the ball in our hands, we want our marriage in our hands, we want our salvation in our hands. Don’t believe me? Here’s just a small sample of the advertising slogans from last Sunday nights 49ers and Cowboys game…

“Invest your way.” (Td investing)

“You can watch your shows Any screen, Anywhere.” (Fibe tv)

“Discover the Rav 4 for you” (Toyota)

Now maybe it’s just NFL fans who want control. Or maybe it’s that advertisers who target NFL fans think they want control…

But i think we know better.

I think we know ourselves better. Yet I’m not sure I’ve ever felt more out of control than during this covid19 pandemic. Is control something we desire but can never achieve? Is their a better way to live then always defaulting to ourselves?

This is Part 3 of the Sermon Series: SOLID.

Sunday Service – January 16. 2022 http://www.rougevalleychurch.org/sermons/sunday-service-january-16-2022/ http://www.rougevalleychurch.org/sermons/sunday-service-january-16-2022/#comments Wed, 19 Jan 2022 01:17:04 +0000 http://www.rougevalleychurch.org/?post_type=ctc_sermon&p=3257 Just before Christmas 2021 the Parliament of Canada unanimously agreed that what the Bible teaches about sexuality is a “myth”. No I am not joking or being hyperbolic. Sorry if you missed it, what with all the COVID crankiness and holiday craziness going on. Here’s the actual preamble to Bill C-4.

“Whereas conversion therapy causes harm to society because, among other things, it is based on and propagates myths and stereotypes about sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression, including the myth that heterosexuality, cisgender gender identity, and gender expression that conforms to the sex assigned to a person at birth are to be preferred over other sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expressions;”

In light of Bill C-4 (which has received royal assent) and perhaps now more than ever Bible-believing Christians need to look again at what it is we believe about The Law of God and how it forms the 2nd firm foundation for a Solid 2022.

December 26, 2021: Fleeing, Family, Sojourning Savior http://www.rougevalleychurch.org/sermons/december-26-2021-fleeing-family-sojourning-savior/ http://www.rougevalleychurch.org/sermons/december-26-2021-fleeing-family-sojourning-savior/#comments Sun, 02 Jan 2022 05:02:48 +0000 http://www.rougevalleychurch.org/?post_type=ctc_sermon&p=3249 Pastor Jacob Birch gives us the message for today. Most families in Canada today come here from somewhere else. My 4 greats-grandfather Simon Girty came here in 1782 as a refugee on the run from the America Army for his actions during The Revolutionary War. Christmas pageants rightfully feature the shepherds, the angels, the inn… essentially the beauties and miracles of the season. Matthew 2 recounts for us the darker side of our favourite season. With 84 million displaced people in the world today, how should our following a stateless Saviour affect our worship? our discipleship? our outreach? The Power of our Testimony http://www.rougevalleychurch.org/sermons/the-power-of-our-testimony/ http://www.rougevalleychurch.org/sermons/the-power-of-our-testimony/#comments Thu, 05 Mar 2020 05:21:35 +0000 http://www.rougevalleychurch.org/?post_type=ctc_sermon&p=3189

Much like the Samaritan Woman, the power of our testimony of Jesus is a powerful tool.

Be blessed on how our witness of the work God has done in us is an unarguable truth.
